Courtyards
Courtyards are traditional archetypes
that are enclosed open areas surrounded by walls on each side. They are
completely open to the sky or appear in the center of buildings or homes. They
can come in all shapes and sizes such as squares, circles, and more intricate
shapes and are used for many purposes. However, most of the time, they provide a
sense safety and privacy. Courtyards can also allow us to be closer to nature and
bring people together.
